12 Jun 2011, 7:30 am

Hi everyone,

All these days we have been discussing about sexual problems one came across like Erectile dysfunction, Premature ejaculation, Impotence, etc but most of us don’t know about the sexual disorders which occurs very rarely. So this week let me educate you all about 5 very rare sexual disorders which has been reported till date across the globe. Its hard to  believe but its true and real.

5. Priapism (Permanent Erection)

Priapism is a potentially harmful and painful medical condition in which the erected penis does not return to its flaccid state, despite the absence of both physical and psychological stimulation, within four hours. It usually mainly affects the corpus cavernosa of the penis. This condition is exceedingly rare. In older population cause is mainly medications used for erectile dysfunction or impotence.

In younger population, hemolytic disorders (e.g. sickle cell anemia) and leukemias are common causes. The Priapism name comes from the Greek god Priapus, who was noted for his disproportionately large and permanent erection. Priapism is considered a medical emergency which should receive proper treatment by a qualified medical practitioner. Early treatment can be beneficial for a functional recovery.

In India priapism occurs for 1 in every 30,00,000 males.

4. Multiple Breast

Multiple Breast Syndrome is a condition where a person is born with, or develops, extra breasts. It is most prevalent in male humans, and often goes untreated as it is mostly harmless. In recent years, many affected women have had a plastic surgery operation to remove the additional breasts, for purely aesthetic reasons.

So far in India only 1500 womens have been reported with multiple breasts syndrome.

3. Penile Duplication or Diphallia

Penile duplication or Diphallia occurs when a baby is born with 2 penises and occurs in 1 out of 5,000,000 male births. Usually the two penises lye side by side to each other and are of equal size. It is extremely rare and so far only 100 cases have been reported till date. Generally, a child born with penile duplication will also have other congenital defects. Babies that are born with this condition are at an increased rate of infant death because of the defects and infections that are associated with the condition.

Only 5 males have been reported with Penile duplication in India and also one of the 5 males cut off his second penis.
